Keyless Entry Install
In a nutshell, my Stellar/AutoLoc BMW45P system was a no go. I
attempted to have it installed at a Tweeter location (other work being done)
where I've had other systems installed, and we never got anything to work.
- followed directions to the letter
- double checked all fuses
- double checked FAQ at their site
- of course, Tech Support was not available today (Sat)
The installer seemed to think we had a bad brain. I am returning the Stellar
unit.
I in turn had them install a "Valet" unit, made by DEI, which also makes Viper
and a couple other brands. All the same bells and whistles, and wouldn't you
know, still the same price. The only caveat about the Vallet was it needed
to be spliced in to the facrtory harness, but, at this point, it wasn;t a big
deal to me since this was now a professional install.
Notes on DEI Valet:
68 million rolling codes
great range
parking lights flash for operation
Here are some pics:
AutoLoc - Didn't Work
Vallet by DEI - Excellent
Finding a switched source for the Valeintine1. We didn't use the roof switch, rather, just tapped into the factory harness when doing the keyless entry portion.
