Brake Job 06-04

I wanted to upgrade the braking system, buit not drop multi thousands on a BBK; afterall 99% of my driving is on the street, with a trip to Deal's Gap/Tail of The Dragon once or twice a year.

After much research, I decided on the following setup:

I enlisted to help of two very good friends Abe and Clif, and we were off.

In a nutshell, it wasn't too bad of a a process.  We didn't have any big OOPes or anything of that nature.  It was just very time consuming cleaning all the components after the disassembly, then the anti-squeal, then the anti-seize, then the LockTite, then the bleeding, etc., etc.  We were all very grungy by the end of the process.

So, we begin!

The Rotors

The garage & jacking

OEM Rotor and caliper bolts, cleaned

Front rotor, then off and areas cleaned

SS lines installed to calipers

Rotors in place and pads installed

Final installation

I followed StopTech website recommendations and bed the brakes with a series of 60 to 5 stops and things went very well.  All feels great, and I'm sure system feel and performance will improve in the near furte as the components wear in appropriately.
