3.73 Differential Install At P1 Auto - July 04

Firstly, P1 Auto is solid.  Jay Folds did my install and I'm very pleased with the work.

As I was told, this diff was secured from a 91 E30 325 with ~100k on it.

In the beginning

The diff was in relatively good shape, except that the vent tube was crushed.  No big deal since we were using my OEM Motorsport diff cover

Opened.  Very clean in there actually

Removed spindles and inserted new seals.  The BFS (big freakin socket; 1 7/8 BTW) was used to tap in the new seals

Interesting note:  we needed to use my existing spindles.  The E30 ones would not bolt up to the axles.

You can guess the rest of the procedure; pretty straightforward.

Swap spindles and bolt everything back up.  Redline 75-90 diff/gear oil was used

Quick and dirty review from the trip home:   WOW.  First gear is gone in a blink if you aren't careful.  2nd and 3rd pull very hard, and 4th and 5th still have some umph for passing as well.  I honestly barely noticed the additional RPMs.  I love it.  I feel it offsets the plus sized Kumhos nicely.

I also had a 4 wheel balance done while I was there.  They use the best ofc ourse, the Hunter 9700 GSP.  The MC rides like glass now.

I could not be more pleased with my trip to P1 Auto.
