Walbro GSS340 Fuel Pump - March 2006

First: thanks to the Angelo, Marco, and NickG for the help.

I got the pump and install kit from apeusa.com for $115, delivered - tough to beat, and, they processed the order within a couple hours, so I had the pump in a couple days from TX to NC.  Kudos.

So, this was a little different than your average E36 install apparently.  I didn't really use anything from the #26 kit except the intake filter.

To make sure the pick up filter was at the same height, we drilled out the bottom of the pump holder assembly sleeve for the Walbro pick up to fit correctly, then attached the pick up filter.

Before disassembly, we measured from a point on the pump holder assembly sleeve  to the pick up, and when were done, measured from the same point, and the measurement was the same.

We used an OEM one-time clamp for the connection.  Another note of interested was that the BMW power connection fit the Walbro without issue.

Upon completion, the startup took a couple seconds, but other than that, the Coupe runs fine so far.  I haven't WOTd yet, but noticed the fuel pressure shooting to 60 psi more quickly and easier than before.

I'd like to think the install is a little on the trick side. :>)
