04.07.10 - Intake Install
Because I
was so happy with the bolt-ons I had on the C4S, I wanted to try to replicate
them on the GT3 in a similar understated manner. I had a EVOMS intake on
the C4S and I liked it for the quickened throttle response and the sound. To be
clear, its not necessarily more power I'm looking for; there is plenty of that,
I'm looking for mostly more sound, and a little less weight with most of these
kinds of modifications.
Researching my options though I quickly learned there were not many
options at all for the 996 GT3.
+ FabSpeed
+ Gruppe M
+ 'Cup' intake
All had their characteristics I didn't care for, either being the look, install,
or cost. I was turned on to this option by PJS996GT3. (link)
K&N makes an intake for the 997.1 3.6L GT3 RS
Clean, simple, and surprisingly, not that expensive. ~$300 and free shipping to
boot. For comparison, the EVOMS is ~$600
Some people poo-poo intakes, and that's OK; I'm not here to convince them
otherwise, but for me, it improves my driving experience. :>)
